About Odd Box:
Odd Box Records is a DIY record label from London, England. Our first release was a 7 inch by Bristol indie-janglers The Kick Inside in May 2009. Since then the label has released 10 full length albums and 30 singles/EPs from bands as diverse as The Blanche Hudson Weekend, One Happy Island, Ace Bushy Striptease and Chapter 24. Picking up a loyal following along the way. Never keen to be pigeon-holed into one style of music, the Odd Box way is focussed on more than one style or sound and releasing bands we genuinely love. Part punk, part pop, all heart.
History:
My first proper music blog was started back in October 2004. It was called Lostmusic. Lostmusic went on to become Lostmusic Presents and Lostmusic Records. The record label and presents part of Lostmusic was always a team effort. Started by myself and Savo in April 2007. We briefly became a trio when Tom (Indie-mp3) joined and the indie-MP3 blog and Lostmusic review blogs joined forces. This trio was short lived as Savo soon departed due to family commitments. In March 2009 we decided to bring Lostmusic to an end.
Odd Box Records was born out of my desire to try something a little different.
We also put on live shows at venues across London under the WHICH WAY IS UP! banner. We have a regular (3rd Friday of the month) shows at The Wilmington Arms where we champion the best new bands.
